CARVED WITH A CRICKET ATOP A CAGE

An agate snuff bottle, very well hollowed, of squared form with rounded shoulders, with a cylindrical neck and with a neatly carved footrim, the honey brown stone with an ochre inclusion utilized on one main side to depict a cricket perched atop its open cage, the lid of the cage fallen to one side, the reverse left plain.
