Fluorite, pale blue, the flawless stone of flattened rectangular form with sloping shoulders and a neatly carved oval footrim, the body exceptionally well hollowed.

There are very few fluorite snuff bottles in published collections, and out of those this is one of only a handful which are of a flawless pale blue color. Fluorite is a relatively soft mineral and is often mistaken for aquamarine. The Bentley Collection similar examples are in aquamarine and crystal.
