雕刻花瓣图案,不仅在玻璃上出现过,在十八世纪宫廷也出现在玉石和其他杂石类烟壶上,这种雕刻方法一直持续到十九世纪中期,但是到了这个时期,瓶子变得更大了,图案更复杂了。这种放射状花瓣图案,最初可能来源于牡丹和菊花,前者象征财富与荣耀,后者象征长寿。这只烟壶尽管作于十八世纪,但是在制作工艺上已经相当仔细,掏膛很薄,两面雕有花瓣纹,内膛磨砂抛光,给烟壶带来一种淡淡的不透明感。在Victoria and Albert 博物馆有两件类似的水晶烟壶,同样磨砂抛光的内膛,同样的不透明感,有意思的是V&A博物馆1895年收藏的这两件烟壶底部都有一个私人收藏款,一个是京斋,一个是寿春楼记,或许两者都与一个特别的学者工作室有关。
