There is a group of late Qing porcelain bottles produced in the form of a curled lotus leaf, all made from the same basic molds, all of which have the details finished by hand, and some of which are glazed in bright hues, others left with a clear glaze. More rarely do we see a similar form in another material. Here the carver has used the stone, with its white and orange inclusions to great effect, highlighting the relief work and the shape of the leaf.
