This bottle is one of the better examples from a school of carving once known as the Han School, with the background color of the stone usually being of a similar tone to this example, and the carving being highlighted by the use of the skin of the jade pebble. More recently, the school has been appropriately called the 'Master of the Rocks' School, for its distinctive carving of mountainous landscapes.
