Enamel on white glass, of meiping form with shoulders sloping to a cylindrical neck and with a neatly carved circular footrim, decorated using famille-rose enamels with a continuous pastoral scene of a woman, in blue robes, her hair with flowers in it and tied with a bow, and a young boy seated on the rocks in a garden, looking together at an open book placed on a rock in front of them, beside an overhanging leafy tree and flowering peonies, the bottle with a poetic inscription describing the scene; below a border on the shoulders of alternating inverted lingzhi heads and with a classic scrolling neck border; the base with a blue enamel maker's mark reading: made by Sun sansong.

After the mid-1960s Wang Xisan became a teacher of enameling at the One Bottle Studio in Hebei Province. His style of enameling and the high standards he has set for his students, and in turn, for the student's of former students have produced a group of exciting contemporary enamel on glass artists, of which Sun sansong is one. Her work follows a traditional style, including the use of poetic inscriptions.
