Stoneware, of flattened rounded form, each main side with a slightly raised circular panel with a convex face; one lower side towards the concave oval foot with an impressed potter’s seal mark Guo Yunshan Zizao, Guo Yunshan made himself.

Attributed to Yixing.

It is both unusual and a bonus when any snuff bottle is signed by the maker, let alone in a rare material such as Yixing, but this is a material revered by the literati and to that end is more likely than glass bottles made in the Palace Workshops.
