During the nineteenth century snuff bottles were fabricated from varying materials and in almost every form imaginable. This example still retains the delicacy that porcelain allows, whilst continuing to be functional with the solid inner body being able to contain snuff. The lattice-work design is reminiscent of window and balustrade designs seen in Chinese gardens.
